Reunion FAQs
How was the ticket price determined?
Living in our amazing little tourist/summer town has become very expensive! The reunion committee has worked hard to find the highest quality services at the most economical price point. In addition to food costs, we have rentals (tables, chairs, equipment), a DJ, bartender, labor fees and sales tax (see attached).
After comparing our pricing with other class reunions happening this summer, we are $20 less than the most similar reunion. AND our reunion is going to be epic!
See full budget below:
Venue: $0!
We have secured the most awesome and unique venue in the entire area! A huge thanks to Robb Bloem for hosting our event at no cost at the brand new StanCraft Jet Center. Trust us, it is incredible! If you haven’t seen it, check it out at https://www.stancraftjet.com/
Note: the venue is at the new Jet Center, not the boat manufacturing facility on Dakota Avenue.
Food: $4,950 ($33 per person). Food costs have risen in the area (tourist town + peak season = high costs) and the caterer has discounted the price for us. We promise it will be more than just tacos. Additionally, we have to include a 20% service charge on top of the $33. This is an industry standard cost. Service charge: $990.00
Décor: Budgeted at $500. Fun 80’s theme decorations.
Rentals: $1,700. These are hard cost numbers for tables, chairs, linens, etc.
DJ: $500. What would an 80’s party be without 80’s music? (Send us your fave jams and we’ll be sure to get them on his play list).
Bartenders/Labor/Liability Coverage: $1,000. This covers 2 food station employees and 2 bartenders for 5 hours. Additionally, State law requires that we have a caterer and/or business serve the alcohol, which also includes liability coverage.
Sales Tax: $415. Catering services are taxed at 6% in Idaho. We have no way around this.
Name badges: $60
Total: $10,115— Divide that by 150 and it equals $67.43 pp
We are basing numbers on 150 people. Total food count will be adjusted to reflect the total number of people, but our hard costs remain the same no matter how many people show up (rental numbers may adjust as well).
Do we have to dress in costume?
No, but why not dust off those Chucks, neon, and Levi’s jackets?? The reunion committee thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the 80’s. For those that don’t want to dress up, the committee is suggesting (not requiring) a donation to the Kootenai Humane Society’s capital campaign. There’s no obligation… the Humane society will accept donations even if you wear a banana clip!
How do I pay? Do I need to bring an actual ‘ticket’ Saturday night or for golf on Sunday?
There are 2 ways to pay. And you don’t need to bring anything with you Saturday night or Sunday. We will have a list of all paid attendees at the door.
1. Use the EventBrite link if you want to use a credit card. EventBrite does charge tax and a processing fee. SATURDAY EVENT TICKET LINK
2. Venmo @Christina-Hatfield-3 — (use 208-661-1705 for phone verification). There are no fees to use Venmo.
3. Remember, if you want to golf, you will need to register for that as well. Cost is $15 for golf, but there is no cost to just come and mingle at Ponderosa on Sunday. Link to pay online for golf is SUNDAY GOLF EVENT TICKET LINK.
Or Venmo to @Christina-Hatfield-3 — use 208-661-1705 for phone verification).
When is the ticket deadline?
You must get your tickets by July 31st!Â
Can I get a ticket at the door Saturday night?
Unfortunately no. The caterer and rental company require a final count 2 weeks before our event.
I won’t be able to make Saturday but I don’t want to miss out!
Friday night there are lots of casual get togethers happening. Join our Facebook group and let us know where you’d like to meet up! Also, Sunday is open to everyone!
I don’t golf, can I attend Sunday?
Yes! Ponderosa is a fun course for all abilities and there will be other shenanigans at each hole to even the playing field! (We can’t all be “hole in one” players)
Also, no registration required if you aren’t golfing. We will have the deck reserved and corn hole in the grass. Capone’s restaurant is on site serving snacks and beverages!
I’m traveling and can’t bring my clubs.Â
Ponderosa has a pro shop with rental clubs for $3
Is there an event for families this year?
Friday there are lots of local events and casual get togethers and families are welcome to Ponderosa on Sunday!
